A new contest to promote innovative start-ups in ingredients

In 2016, Agroparc, French pole of excellence in Food Intelligence, based in Avignon (France) and UBM, a global leader in business-to-business (B2B) events organization, join forces to launch the Start-Up Innovation Challenge. This Challenge aims at promoting international innovative projects on ingredients during the next Health Ingredients Europe exhibition (HIE) in Frankfurt-Germany. 

The Start-Up Innovation Challenge aims at rewarding ingredient innovative projects, carried out by start-ups that have brought something completely new and unexpected to the food and health markets. Prize-winners are being offered a strong media visibility by UBM, combined with a “starter package” provided by Agroparc’ key partners. Awarded projects can then develop, test, experiment and communicate on their technologies in a meaningful environment while being assisted by industry experts.

A “Natural Ingredients” special prize will be given by Naturex, partner of the event, for innovative projects promoting new extraction methods (green tech), new plant extracts, new ingredients concepts, etc,…Naturex, global leader in specialty plant based natural ingredients aims to actively contribute to the global transition from synthetic to natural ingredients.  

Who are the competitors?

The Challenge rewards the best Ingredients projects, carried out by less than 3 year old start-ups or by still developing companies.

For this 1st edition, the Start-Up Innovation Challenge is organized as part of the Health Ingredients Europe exhibition (HIE), which will take place in Frankfurt (Germany) from the 29th of November until the 1st of December 2016.

Online registrations are open from the 1st of September to the 31st of October 2016. A judging panel will designate 5 finalists who will have to « live pitch » during the HIE on the 29th of November. The two best projects will be awarded during a Prize Award ceremony, which will take place on the 29th of November.

The Start-Up Innovation Challenge, Ingredient category, completes the 2 existing categories of the Food Intelligence Challenges: Packaging and Food safety.
