Botanicals : a new class of prebiotic agent ? The Rosemary extract example.

Pascale Fança-Berthon presented Naturex's research on the antioxidant and prebiotic effects of rosemary on microbiota on the "2nd world congress on Targeting microbiota : towards clinical revolution” in Paris 16-17th of October 2014. This work is very important because it provides novel insights about the role of antioxidants in intestinal microbiota. For the moment, most of the research on microbiota and diet is focused either on probiotics or classical prebiotics, such as fibers.
