A NaDES (Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent) is by definition a mixture of compounds, in specific proportions, presenting a lower melting point than any of the individual components. The mixture thus becomes liquid at room temperature. In nature, NaDES preserve the plant cell’s integrity under the most extreme conditions (drought, desiccation, etc.).
