Naturex has successfully completed the FSSC 22 000 certification
Avignon, 16th November 2012 –The New Jersey factory has recently achieved the Food Safety System Certification 22 000. In the meantime the Avignon based facility has successfully completed its audit.
An independent certification body has audited Naturex’s risk management plans, supply chain and manufacturing processes. They also took into account the application of complete and rigorous analytical testing programs for raw materials and ingredients, which are targeted at the food & beverage and nutraceutical industries.
The FSSC 22000 is the highest level of certification in food safety management systems within the FSSC program. This certification combines ISO 22000, a unique International Standard based on the HACCP method and ISO TS 22000-1, which was developed to specify the prerequisite programs related to good manufacturing practices. It is approved by GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative), which also recognizes BRC1, IFS2 and SQF3.
Speaking about FSSC 22000, Nicolas Souchon, Global Quality Assurance Director, said: “This certification has become a leading global reference that is internationally recognized and steered by an independent ISO committee. It is trusted and respected by all of the world’s largest food & beverage groups.”
This new certification is in line with Naturex standards on food safety. Several other factories among the Naturex industrial network are also being evaluated for the FSSC certification. In October, the Avignon factory (France) successfully fulfilled all the criteria of the audit and the team is waiting for the final certification.
