Second edition for the Start-up Innovation Challenge, held during the next Fi Europe

After the success of the first edition in 2016, which rewarded two promising projects (3F Bio and GreenFood 50) UBM, Naturex, Presans and Vaucluse Provence Attractivité are pleased to launch the second edition of the Start-up Innovation Challenge, during the next Fi Europe & Ni.

The Start-up Innovation Challenge aims to reward innovative ingredient projects, carried out by start-ups that have brought something completely new and unexpected to the food and health markets. It gives them the opportunity to pitch their idea to the whole host of Food & Beverage industry players that make up Fi Europe’s 1500 exhibitors and more than 25,000 visitors.

For this second edition, a new partner is joining the team: Vaucluse Provence Attractivité (VPA) – the economic development agency for the Vaucluse, Southern France. Located in the heart of Provence, this area has a rich academic and industrial ecosystem in the sector of food ingredient and nutraceuticals. VPA provides customized support for companies wishing to expand and set up their activities in France.

Award categories and Prices

After having presented their projects in front of a judging panel of recognized experts and journalists, two start-ups will be rewarded.

A special “natural Ingredients” prize will be given by Naturex for innovative projects promoting new extraction methods (green tech), new plant extracts, innovative ingredients concepts, etc,… Naturex sources, manufactures and markets natural specialty ingredients for the food, health and cosmetic industries. As the Natural Maker, the company actively supports the global shift to natural.

Who are the competitors?

The Start-up Innovation Challenge rewards the best ingredients projects, carried out by start-ups less than 3 years old or by still-developing companies. Only 10 start-ups will be invited to pitch at the event.
